Budget proposal would slash oil impact funding

The deadline is approaching, and North Dakota lawmakers are focusing their attention on a contentious bill that would not only lay out dramatically less funding for Oil Patch counties, but would do away with hub city funding altogether. The provision has northwestern North Dakota legislators scrambling to hold onto their proverbial wallets.

Bekkedahl“This bill has some real telling things in there that are not very friendly to the western North Dakota oil counties,” Sen. Brad Bekkedahl, R-Williston, said. “There are several things that take away money not only from Williston, but also from townships and other hub cities and schools as well.”
