District 8 Incumbents Defeated, School Bond Narrowly Fails

Feb 26, 2020

A proposal to build a $28 million elementary school has failed, and two incumbents have lost their seats in Williams County Public School District No. 8.

Chris Jundt and Sarah Williams won the two seats on Tuesday's ballot. Jundt and Williams, along with Selena Gustaveson, challenged school board President Penny Soiseth and Vice President Curtis Sullivan.

Unofficial results showed 458, or 56.4 percent, voted yes on the school bond, and 354, or 43.6 percent, voted no. It required 60 percent approval to pass.
